First of all, I'd like to wish you a Merry Christmas, and congratulations to all of those receiving asterisks or equality signs before their names, :rofl:... Wonder why that never happened to me. :lmao: Yes, i'd really like that to happen to me. But then again, what'd I'd do with it?

Anyway, I post this since (no, I'm not featuring anyone ahead of time, if that's what you're thinking) I'd like to make an announcement. I'll be starting to accept art commissions in any form you may fancy. ~darksage29 will handle most forms of art, specializing of course in manga art and ~yamisejiKISA will handle photography. Note me in either of these accounts if you're interested. I don't care much about what I get in return, actually. I just wanted to. You can pay me in cash, kind (such as, treating me out to lunch, LOL), or maybe even a shiny new subscription!~ yeah, like that'd happen...

well, I dunno. I realize I'm still sub par with my work... Although a lot of people say it's great and that the stuff at ~yamisejiKISA is great, even though no one ever comments or watches that account and all I get are blind faves, which I feel is a shame, honestly, since I really want to improve. Not only with my photography but also with my drawings, which happen to be the first art I entered, frankly. But giving commissions may as well give me a bit of spare pocket money, or maybe I could save up to get more cosplay stuff, or maybe even buy new equipment (liek, copic markers? LOL! :XD:). Yeah.

And the december features are still up, by the way. :meow:

the first to be featured will be:
:star::iconczaren::star:
*czaren was one of my first friends at DA. I have a vague image of her in her red uniform and short pigtails from her self-portraits. :lmao:. Hers is a dreamy, watercolor-pastel style that draws the viewer in... Also, her style contains such expressive eyes and such neat lineart... Kinda hard to believe that the girl's at least five years my junior. :D

The second artist feature is...
:star::iconkamioto-furin::star:
~kamioto-furin jumped on me here on DA. Quite literally. She was my classmate in Math 17, Physics 71, Physics 72, Chem 156.1 and now for Chem 151. She's an extremely talented artist... with a bit of peter pan syndrome. Her style is neat, deliberate in its complexity, extremely detailed, and not to mention superbly colored. Much credence to her obsessive-compulsive nature...

...oh, and did I mention we share birthdays?

Double Monthly Feature! et al.

I failed to make a November post. So ~LuiNahtzi still dominated the journal feature well into December and into my birthday. LOL. Truth is, I'm waiting to have photoshop installed so I can continue working on my artworks... I couldn't even edit the pictures I want.

Speaking of which, I am sorely tempted to post photography here instead of at ~yamisejiKISA (for the uninitiated, ~yamisejiKISA is my photography account, because there seems to be a conflict between my photos and my drawings... I don't want them overpowering each other, as I stated in a previous post). I don't know why... Mainly because most of the people on my watchlist are uploading series upon series of photos and it kinda drowns the drawings. meh. =.=

speaking of which, I'd be uploading a new series at ~yamisejiKISA. Please watch that account. It's kinda dry, actually.

So on to the double monthly feature!~

Scanning Issues, Photo Gallery, Monthly Feature

So I barely even update nowadays. How do I live with myself?

...actually, I'm too lazy to scan, since the last time I tried, it was epic fail, and I need my tablet and my PC, but all I have is this laptop since there's no net upstairs.

By the way, I won't be posting photographs in this gallery anymore. Repeat: you will no longer see phoography by ~darksage29. Yeah. You got that right. All of those watching this account will never see pictures from me again. :noes:

...because I already made an account for my photography: ~yamisejiKISA. I will post all my obligatory camwhoring and artshots into that gallery, because mainly this gallery was built upon the ink and colors of manga art, and to spoil it with another artform seems, hmm, pointless?

..maybe not pointless, but distracting. I mean, I'm a manga artist, so if I ever do any sidetracking photography escapades, I don't think it's fair to be posting it here for my manga-loving audience.

...Plus, I'd like to expand my audience to fellow photographers(?). Note the use of question mark.

Enough of that. Time for the monthly feature.

This month's featured deviant is:
:star::iconluinahtzi::star:
Lui was the first artist I met on dA. In fact, she's the first friend I ever met on the net. And I haven't even seen her in person. Our friendship started when she replied to a comment I made to her fanfic, and checking if she had any IM's, tried contacting her. There you go (She's three years my junior by the way, if you manage to get any ideas).

Anyway, like me, she hardly uploads anymore. But when she does, expect a shocker. Her colors are so lively and vibrant, and her style is so unique and fresh. A lot of my faves are her work... And she looking at her work taught me and pushed me to draw even better too. How's about that?

Will you be the next on my monthly feature? Check in next week to find out! (augh, that sounded awful!)

I'm back, people... Haha. If you've been wondering why I haven't been doing anything, it's because I'm too lazy :rofl:. No really... I haven't had the will to touch my deviantart account for a while, mainly because the deviations keep piling up and I am compelled to comment on the ones I like, and I really don't have any new material to post here.

As you can see, most of my deviations now focus on photography. Although I don't have any formal training in this art (yeah, and I had formal training in manga drawing, when?), and my camera isn't actually professional-grade, some people say that my shots are pretty much stellar. Plus, photoshop is my best friend. :lol:

The thing is, I'm posting a lot of my artshots, including last week's "Visions of Manila" and "Artist at Work" minishoots since I don't have access to a tablet and I'm too lazy to fire up the scanner, because the internet in my main computer is busted. So I rely on the downstairs wifi using a laptop. So there.

I do, however, have plenty of new sketches on my sketchpad (autographed by :iconblackmage9: too, :lmao:), which I am excited to share to he people who watch me.

And, speaking of which, I will start featuring galleries. Once a month, I'll feature an artist on my watchlist who, in my opinion, pretty much rocks. Okay.. here goes.

THIS MONTH'S FEATURED DEVIANT IS...
:star::iconshinyredballoon::star:
:w00t:
I met ~starlightinajar during the OMAKE maid cafe 19 months back. Back then, she was shooting her friends (she even got a couple of shots of me as a butler, if I remember correctly). Back then, I didn't really think she was approachable. But I was wrong. LOL
I started having discussions with her on what was going on here in the DA scene, especially photography dramu. She's my principal inspiration when it comes to photography, mainly because her work is just fantastic. :D

Her signature style creates atmospheric, to the point of dream-like pictures. She uses a variety of techniques (which I too am dying to learn :p), and has a lot of models at her disposal (that, I DON'T have. :noes:). What impresses me most is her ATTENTION TO DETAIL, as she would spend literally DAYS processing a photo (which, for me, would take around 5-10 minutes). I aplaud that, The mark of a true artist.

Watch out next month for my new artist feature. Who knows, it could be you!

This one's slightly... overdue. Haha.I'm actually trying to give myself motivation to study for tomorrow's Biochem finals not that I won't pass anyway, LOL

I haven't been drawing lately other than minor scribbles. Seriously, my drawings have deteriorated in my opinion... I'm just not putting enough effort into art lately. I've been drawing the exact same things over and over again. Gah... Creativity has also gone down due to the influx of scientific knowledge.

To detoxify, though, I've been cosplaying more and more... And I may get the chance to have a photoshoot late this coming May, if permitted. I'm not shifting into photography or anything... But my aesthetic eye has far surpassed my wrist in terms of art.

Oh well, 'till the next update then.
